Technology Many wells can be re-perf and re-frac after existing zone is totally shut off and can hold the subsequent frac burst pressure. Since re-perf and refrac may go below the existing zones, zones shut off requests not only pressure hold beyond frac burst pressure but also no restriction in the wellbore. Depending on different well conditions, PGS/RARS/ERS/TIP sealants are combined to pump and squeezed into existing zones, leaving full column of PGS sealant within the horizontal section to support the flow back from high side of the perf holes. Once sealants get crosslinked, it will shut off fractures in zones, perf hole channels and perf hole itself and form a strong stress barrier. Remaining PGS sealant can be easily washed out of hole by tubing deployment. |
